Jon Rubinstein just made it official during their financial results conference call, folks: Palm is only going to develop webOS devices form now on. Say goodbye to Palm-branded Windows Mobile Devices....

| Palm Eos on track for AT&T release second half of 2009

Looks like Centro successor Eos might be coming sooner than expected, with this purported AT&T powerpoint slide listing a second half 2009 ship date, along with a "new Palm OS experience" tagline that we're gonna take to mean webOS for now (still no 100 percent confirmation, unfortunately), all the specs listed were the same as we heard before: 2.63-inch, 320 x 400 capacitive touchscreen, 4GB storage, POP3, IMAP, and EAS support, integrated IM client, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, and a sexy thin and light form factor. Keep an eye out for this one, we think it might go places....

All signs are pointing toward an early June Pre launch at this point; of course, we know it'll launch in the first half of the year -- and we're quickly running out of first half -- but we've heard increased chatter the past few weeks suggesting that June 5 or June 7 are particularly likely targets for bringing Palm's (and Sprint's) would-be savior to market....

While the iPhone has set the standard for future smartphones, Palm's WebOS delivers two important improvements that the iPhone can't yet match: true multitasking between applications, and a subtle notifications system that doesn't interrupt your train of thought. It does that while unveiling its own stamp on the multitouch user interface that Apple introduced to the masses with the iPhone and finding room for a slide-out hardware keyboard favored by CrackBerry addicts....

Individuals can choose from 450 minute ($69.99), 900 minute ($89.99) or unlimited plans ($99.99). Families can choose from 1500 minutes ($129.99), 3000 minutes ($169.99) or unlimited plans ($189.99). Business customers will also be able to pool their minutes together using about 5 different plans. They don't want people signing up for voice-only plans because they don't want people incurring extra charges they're not entirely aware of....

Mobile phone Company HTC is set to launch a brand new phone touch phone that will take on the Apple iPhone and the new Pre offering from Palm claims a senior executive of Telstra.

Today Access, the company that purchased PalmSource, officially unveiled its Linux based successor to the Garnet OS (formerly known as Palm OS). The Access Linux Platform 3.0, as it is known, supports not only native Linux applications, but also legacy Garnet OS applications as well as Java apps....
